Threat Intelligence Company Intelligence Fusion announces new CTO

Joe Sweeny has been promoted from Engineering Manager to the role of CTO

Joe Sweeny, who joined Intelligence Fusion as a Senior Software Engineer in March 2020, has been promoted to the role after 18 months of working his way up at the company, stepping up from his previous role of Engineering Manager where he has been overseeing the development and expansion of the tech team.

Joe initially joined the company in a supporting role as Senior Software Engineer, helping to continually improve Intelligence Fusion’s award winning threat intelligence platform, as well as helping to develop a bespoke platform for one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies, a project that he oversaw the final delivery and rollout of following his previous promotion to Engineering Manager. Now he’ll be building out Intelligence Fusion’s tech capabilities even further, allowing the company to create new features and functionality to meet the needs of new and existing clients, continue to offer bespoke threat intelligence solution capability, and maintain its position as one of the most innovative threat intelligence software providers in the industry.

I’m excited to continue to build on our recent successes with the new engineers we’ve recently welcomed to the team. They’ve been able to hit the ground running and contribute already, and there’s still room for a few more faces too.

Joe said: “I’m over the moon to be honest with you. To have the opportunity to build a team and provide an environment where engineers can work, grow and develop themselves is something I find extremely exciting and rewarding.

“We are building a really knowledgeable tech team here, which is why we’ve been able to build and innovate upon the first versions of our platform. As we keep our feedback loops tight we hear good and continuous feedback from our clients allowing us to recently create and deliver a bespoke solution to one of our clients – that’s all down to the hard work and expertise of the whole team.

“I’m excited to continue to build on our recent successes with the new engineers we’ve recently welcomed to the team. They’ve been able to hit the ground running and contribute already, and there’s still room for a few more faces too.

“We’ve got an extensive product roadmap of features gathered from all departments within Intelligence Fusion, as well as client led requests, so we’re looking forward to planning and delivering them in the near future.”

Joe and the team will be looking to build out not just new UI functionality but also improve the server side functionality of the platform and infrastructure over the next few months, including Intelligence Fusion’s Incident API feed and data-mining tools, allowing them to not only improve the user experience within the platform, but also helping the operations team with features that can enhance the speed and scope of their incident reporting.

This will, in turn, mean that clients will benefit from an even better experience using Intelligence Fusion’s threat intelligence platform – not just from brand new features but also from enhancements to existing features, and back-end performance upgrades such as quicker load times – as well as even greater threat intelligence coverage and even quicker speed of reporting, too.
